PROMS in the Park, one of the perennial highlights of the British cultural calendar, is back in Singleton Park on Saturday 14th Sepember.
The concert will link up with the Royal Albert Hall on the Last Night of the Proms, along with other BBC Proms in the Park concerts in Hyde Park, Scotland and Northern Ireland. This year’s season marks the 150th birthday of founder-conductor Sir Henry Wood and continues to fulfil his mission to bring ‘the best of classical music to the widest possible audience.’
And it’ll be part of Swansea’s own 50th anniversary celebrations of its status as a city.
Music lovers are invited to bring their picnics and deck chairs to celebrate the Last Night of the Proms. The evening will end with fireworks and the traditional Last Night medley of sing along numbers.
